St. Hilda’s RC Primary School, Whitby, welcomed Bishop Terence Patrick to visit their school on Wednesday 28th September. Whilst he was there he blessed the chapel with the Y5/6 children.
He took part in Collective Worship with the Y3/4 children, looking at the plight of refugees. The class were lucky to have the Lampedusa cross available and bring real meaning to their worship.
The children in Foundation, Y1/2 were delighted to sing, Our God is a Great Big God for the Bishop.
Bishop Terence spent time engaging in conversation with the children throughout the school and provided an opportunity for the children to ask him questions. Whilst it was a whistle stop tour, a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon was had by all.

The school has decided to continue the collection of food throughout the year for the Whitby food bank, especially in light of a local supermarket ceasing the facility.
